OPTICAL SOLUTIONS PORTFOLIO

A new way to design network

_______

There’s a lot of talk about fiber optics and fiber-optic networks. One thing is related to huge capacity that this media allows over mid-long distance. This is possible using two approaches also known as passive optical multiplexing and active one.

OPNET has considered both approaches in its portfolio with the intent to taking the benefit of each one in the different network scenarios and to offer a complete, reliable and the most competitive solution to his Customers both from economic and technology perspective.

HOW MAXIMIZE FIBER UTILIZATION

OPNET passive optical solutions allows to create an efficient and transparent to any data rate and service type L1 transport network based on passive xWDM filters and colored optics plugged into different equipment such as routers or switches.

This approach simplifies bandwith scalability and reduce costs of a complex optical networking platform. OPNET has developed its own cost-efficient platform for passive optical layer nodes such as CWDM and DWDM multiplexers/demultiplexers and OADMs (Optical Add Drop Multiplexer). Using best-of-breed components, OPNET is able to offer the latest generation of solutions to his Customers’ passive optical networking needs.

Thanks to its deep knowledge of optical network, OPNET has developed specific software tools for a better network design, as well as new types of optical multiplexers allowing any network topology (i.e. ring, cascade, splitted), a new design for high-capacity mobile backhaul or fronthaul networks and, last, point-to-point (P2P) or point-to-multipoint (P2M) services on the same single fiber splitted infrastructure.

A POWERFUL L1 TRANSPORT NETWORK

When power budget and number of channels transported are a critical issue in the network design, an active optical networking solution may be the more suitable approach.

OPNET has defined a multi-service platform based on different module (i.e. transponder/muxponder, EDFA and DCU, line monitoring and protection) capable to address different network scenarios such as Data Center Interconnection (DCI), regional optical network, subway or train networks.

Our CWDM/DWDM platform is not limited by the network topology or distances between the sites and provides flexible add/drop capabilities as well as traffic regeneration at different points across the backbone infrastructure. OPNET solutions supports till to 100G within 80Km without any EDFA or dispersion unit and is able to scale-up till to 400G
